Day 1 - Relay in
The CurraghOn the 7th of February the highly anticipated Anniversary Weekend began with a relay in The Curragh. Despite the cold February weather the event was a great success with participants from all over the country competing in teams of three. Every team was composed of students or alumni of the same university.

A major thank you to Conor Short for planning, Ruth Lynam for controlling and Jana Cox for organizing the course. We're grateful for CNOC, WATO and Pat Healy for organizing much appreciated food afterwards, Cyril and Caroline from DUCAC for financial support and assistance and WATO, CNOC and 3ROC for lending us gear.
And of course a major thank you to everyone attending the relay and giving their best on the courses!

Social evening in the Gingerman (Dublin)
In the evening after the relay students, alumni and other guests were invited to the Gingerman for some fingerfood and a drink to celebrate 40 years of DUO, 40 years of orienteering at Trinity College and 40 years of successful participation in events across the country. Highlight of the evening were speeches by President Ruth Lynam, Captain Eoin McCullough, Secretary Jana Cox and Cyril Smith from DUCAC. Cyril surprised everyone by awarding the Alumni Cup to DUO on behalf of DUCAC. Jana added to the festivities with a home-made cake with DUO decorations.

Day 2 - Djouce Wood
After a lovely evening out it was time on Sunday to switch back to orienteering gear and go out on a course in Djouce Wood. In the midst of stunning nature Eoin, Clíona and John McCullough put out a course crossing the valley. Although some of our beginners struggled a little bit everyone finished the course and greatly enjoyed their time!
